The battery stores energy. The inverter converts the direct current from panels and batteries into the alternating current your appliances use, and it manages charging.
In practice the two have to suit each other, so it’s best to choose them together.
It can, but air conditioners draw a lot of power, especially when starting. Running one needs an inverter with enough capacity, and enough panels and battery to supply it for the hours you need.

Lithium iron phosphate batteries generally last for many more charge cycles and can be used more deeply than lead-acid. Lead-acid batteries cost less at first but usually need replacing sooner.
Every battery we stock today is lithium iron phosphate.
Often, yes. Many inverters and batteries are designed to be expanded, but the limits differ between brands and models. Tell us your plans, even if they’re years away, so we can recommend equipment that leaves room to grow.
