Questions about this one

Is the bootloader locked?

Yes. The phone is reset and locked for normal use, ready for a Google account.

Does the camera bar scratch?

The aluminium bar can pick up fine marks in a pocket. A case is recommended for daily use.

The details

Point, shoot, done.

Google's HDR and portrait processing are quick and consistent. The 5x telephoto is useful for school events and street scenes where moving closer is not an option.

The Pixel 8 Pro leans on Google's image processing rather than sheer sensor size. Faces, night scenes and zoomed shots come out balanced with very little editing, which suits people who want a good photo without a workflow.

A clean Android experience

The interface is close to stock Android, with call screening and voice transcription built in. Seven years of updates make a refurbished unit a long-term purchase rather than a stopgap.
